From the team's former president.
While taking a break from recording his recently released album, Certified Lover Boy, Drake reportedly watched episode four of the Netflix documentary series Untold. This episode focuses on the Danbury Trashers, a hockey team that built a fearsome reputation for violence and set a league record for the most penalties earned in their first season alone.
The now-defunct team was owned by James “Jimmy” Galante, who was known to have mob ties, and was run by his 17-year-old son A.J who received a DM from Drake after the pop star had watched the documentary. Reportedly telling A.J. that the documentary inspired him to finish his latest album, he shipped his own personal jersey to the Canadian artist.
Since then, Drake has posted to Instagram twice wearing the jersey, sporting the item with a pair of black slim-fitting trousers and a pair of Nike Air Tuned Max sneakers.
