First Look at Nike x CONCEPTS Air Max 1 “Heavy”

Coming soon.

Nike have unveiled official imagery of the first of three new Nike x CONCEPTS Air Max 1 colourways, with the first official release set to be the “Heavy” iteration.

The two brands are longtime collaborators, with this version of the Air Max 1 taking direct inspiration from the ’60s and ’70s music festival scene, and in particular the 1969 Woodstock festival. Looking to encapsulate the legacy of that time period and music festival in particular, CONCEPTS stated that the shoe was a representation of the “lineage of radical youth expression” that came out of that era.

Aesthetically, the shoe captures the wild and free vision of Woodstock, boasting a range of different patchwork materials, colours, and patterns. Light-wash denim takes up the toe box and quarter panels of the sneaker, with the mudguards on the very front utilising a traditional green and brown camouflage pattern. Moving towards the back end of the shoe, the Nike swoosh on the quarter panel is an embroidered flower-laden emblem -sticking to Woodstock’s hipster vibe- as well as there being bright orange bandana material making up the heel overlays. Frayed Nike writing is placed on the heel tab alongside additional patchwork materials, with camouflage, CONCEPTS insignia, and brown accents also making an appearance. A predominantly white and brown speckled midsole and gum bottom complete the outlandish sneaker.

Check out official imagery below and let us know what you think. Release information is set to drop in the upcoming weeks.
