The STRIAE by MCQ capsule was released over the weekend, with illustrator and textile practitioner Taylor Silk taking the creative reigns.

The STRIAE collection is inspired by the movement of the human body and predominantly draws from anatomical illustrations that are related to skin and muscle structures. A creative centre point of the collection is that what is usually hidden beneath clothing, such as lingerie, scars, and vitiligo, is brought to the surface as the central focus of beauty.

This message is channelled through several standout pieces, with sporty jackets, track pants, gilets, and ribbed knits being up for grabs. Other notable inclusions see athletic utility lingerie include soft velvet materials for a hybridised re-imagination of underwear, whilst heat map-inspired fabrics look to resemble thermal imaging and internal anatomy to really set the tone for the collection’s aesthetic meaning. In reference to styling the campaign, MCQ recruited Ai Kamoshita and Rina Sawayama as collaborators for this campaign, with the latter expected to release her own capsule collection in the near future.

The STRIAE by MCQ collection is available to purchase online now via the MCQ website.
