Nike Officially Announce Next Tom Sachs x NikeCraft Sneaker

'Boring'...

After a long wait for new Tom Sachs creations, Nike has officially announced the release date for the pair’s new collaboration, which sees Sachs take on a ‘boring’ aesthetic.

Considering the wide-scale popularity of the Nike x Tom Sachs Mars Yard 2.0 sneaker, it is no surprise to see a big amount of hype surrounding this pair, even when taking into account Tom Sachs’ attempts to make this rollout as minimalist as possible. In an official statement, Nike and Tom Sachs lead with the tagline ‘BORING’ and stated the following:

“Your sneakers shouldn’t be the most exciting thing about you. They are tools, and what matters about your tools is that they work. They do their job so you can do yours. […] It took us 10 years to make a sneaker this simple–as simple as can be and no simpler. A do-more sneaker. An own-less sneaker. A show-up, prove-it, whole-life, be-you sneaker.”

Placing a firm emphasis on wearing and tearing your sneakers, Tom Sachs’ latest is called the Tom Sachs x NikeCraft General Purpose Shoe and it takes on a simple aesthetic, utilising a gum midsole, black rubber sole, as well as an aged off-white mesh and suede upper. The minimalist pair feature matching laces, signature Nike branding on the tongue and heel, in addition to hits of royal blue on the tongue and heel straps.

The Tom Sachs x NikeCraft General Purpose Shoe is set to release on June 10th via the Nike website.
