Carhartt WIP proves the distinct longevity of their brand with this latest collaborative effort, as London-based design studio Toogood has taken it upon themselves to rework some of the label’s classic pieces.

Toogood Studios are a design platform that reimagines a range of clothing, furniture, and objects, and with this collaboration, they reinvigorate and recut archetypal Carhartt WIP silhouettes and “inject them with sculptural volume.” The unisex capsule is composed of two jackets, a shirt, a pair of trousers, a set of overalls, and a t-shirt, all of which combine elements from both brands’ work. Sharing a utilitarian aesthetic, both labels look to capture an everyday uniform in this collection, with pieces such as Carhartt WIP’s infamous Michigan Jacket being redesigned for a more sculpted and up-to-date take on workwear. The collection features Carhartt WIP’s trademark organic cotton Dearborn Canvas and the lighter Utah Canvas, with co-branded labelling and buttons being placed onto a range of off-white, black, and hamilton brown shaded pieces.

In reference to the collection, Erica Toogood- Head of Design of the London-based design studio- stated:

“This collaboration has come from a very natural place for both brands. Carhartt WIP’s history of modifying historic workwear sits effortlessly with Toogood’s nod to trades and workwear, reimagined and sculpted with artistic freedom.”

The Toogood x Carhartt WIP collection is available to shop now via the Toogood website.
