Heritage workwear brand Dickies have come together with multifaceted fashion brand New York Sunshine for their new ‘Sun-Dyed in Texas’ collection.
Arriving in two parts, this collaboration between Dickies and New York Sunshine looks to strike a balance between fashion and art by collective utilising them under their ‘Sun-Dyed in Texas’ theme, which combines the heritage of both brands. The first part of the collaboration was set up in the summer of 2021 and leans into New York Sunshine’s ties to physical art, with two physical installations being put together in Marfa, Texas. These included a stick-frame house and an array of billboards wrapped in Dickies’ customary fabric.
Striking that balance between art and fashion comes in the second part of the collaboration, as both brands unite for a selection of garments that are composed out of the weathered material from the Marfa art installations. These pieces boast a brown, beige, indigo blue, and grey colour palette, with the selection including a range of classic Dickies workwear pieces like carpenter pants, workwear vests, traditional jackets, and standard overalls, with graphic t-shirts, button-up shirts, hoodies, hats, and socks completing the range.
The Dickies x New York Sunshine collection is set to release today, June 17th via the Dickies and New York Sunshine websites.
