Looking to merge music with fashion are Berghaus Dean Street, who have launched their ‘Start Somewhere’ campaign for the Spring/Summer 2022 season, which begins with the first instalment of ‘Dean Street Discovers’.
The campaign puts five young musicians at the forefront of the campaign, which is entitled ‘Start Somewhere’, and looks to celebrate “[…] the bold steps taken by young talent when carving a path for themselves in their genre.” Featuring soul singer Iyamah, three-piece ‘tropical indie’ band Cassia, and leading R&B talent SIPHO, the campaign looks to explore each individual musicians’ relationship with themselves, their music, and the inspiration to be gained from getting out and about in the great outdoors.
Being a brand that gained popularity amongst several musical subcultures, Berghaus is casting its collection back to those times, looking to give back to young musicians and cultures that helped the brand become what it is today. The collection itself looks to pay homage to the heritage work of Berghaus, with an eclectic mix of bold Aztec prints, colour blocking, and tie-dye designs adding a retro air to the range. The pieces arrive in a range of colours, with everything from fuchsia, coral, and teal to earthy and natural tones of brick red, olive green, and navy being utilised. Some highlights from the range include a teal Aztec print fleece and a red, navy, and brown windbreaker with classic Berghaus branding.
