PAUSE Picks: Top Sneaker Releases of the Week

Patta x Nike Air Max 1 'The Next Wave'

Back for another weekly round-up, Nike lead the pack yet again as the sportswear giants join forces with Patta for ‘The Next Wave’. Coming together for a collaborative iteration of the Nike Air Max 1, the second released colourway between the duo sees a brown leather takeover the upper alongside a grey mesh base, with hits of cream adorning the midsole as well as flashes of pink and blue colouring the lacing unit and sockliners. As we merge into autumn, this is set to be a pair that rises in popularity, so grab a pair quick.

New Balance 990v2 Made in USA

Keeping the autumnal theme going, New Balance have stepped forward with a heavy dose of colour for their latest release, tapping Teddy Santis for another left-of-centre pair. Taking a bright approach to the 990v2 silhouette, Santis opts for a bright orange smooth suede for the upper overlays as well as a similarly coloured mesh base, with hits of black adorning the toe box, heel, and midfoot New Balance insignia. A white set of laces, midsole, and air unit complete the main features of the shoe, with additional hits of ‘990’ and ‘USA’ branding sitting subtly on the tongue and heels of the pair.

adidas SPZL Stapfen

If you’re looking to stand out from adidas Samba crowd, the adidas SPZL Stapfen ‘Brown Desert’ is just the ticket. The low-riding silhouette feels classic but doesn’t feel overdone, with the dark brown pair boasting a suede-on-suede upper composition with contrasting shades of dark and light brown. The eye stay panel arrives in a unique shape, complimenting the rope lacing system, with matching adidas Three Stripe branding, heel tabs, and dark gum midsoles giving this pair a relentlessly brown colour palette, whilst a subtle hit of gold adidas lettering provides that extra dose of branded detailing.

Balenciaga Track Sneaker

Having been seen on a host of celebrities, such as Pharrell and Lil Uzi Vert, the Balenciaga Running Sneaker is finally available in a full size run. The sporty pair feature, as you’d expect, several traditional running features including a predominantly mesh upper with nylon additions for a striking and vibrant appearance, double lacing for extra security, as well as a chunky and dynamic rubber sole being included to help propel your foot forward. Lastly, hits of silver, blue, purple, yellow, red and more adorn the sneaker, adding that distinctly Balenciaga bold look, whilst brand lettering adorns the toe box to let everyone know you’ve got the heat.

ASICS x NAKED Copenhagen GEL-1130

Rounding out this week’s list with a similarly sporty pair, ASICS have come together with NAKED Copenhagen for a collaborative iteration of the GEL-1130 sneaker. Proving to be one of ASICS’ most popular silhouettes, this version of the GEL-1130 releases in a white mesh and silver nylon composition, whilst also boasting an aged cream midsole, with hits of pistachio green adorning various areas of the toe box, midfoot, heel, and lacing system for a subtle dose of colour. Being vegan-friendly and mostly made of recycled materials, the pair provide a solid choice for those looking to reduce their carbon footprint… literally.
