PAUSE Picks: Top Sneaker Releases of the Week

Air Jordan 4 "Canyon Purple"

Coming in with a classic for this week’s roster is Nike yet again, who have put forward another stellar Air Jordan 4 colourway. Making sure the Jordan 4 gets as much of the limelight as possible this summer, this Air Jordan 4 “Canyon Purple” takes the infamous Travis Scott colour palette and runs with it, utilising a faded rough purple suede for the entirety of the upper, with the other notable standout being the hits of khaki green that adorn the speckled TPU wing eyelets and midsole. Lastly, hits of black and white arrive on various areas of the heel, midfoot panelling and midsole, with a bright orange Air Jordan brand tag adorning the tongue.

Stüssy x Converse Chuck 70 Hi “Surfman”

Never seeming to be able to stay away from one another, Stüssy and Converse have joined forces once again for a collaborative Chuck 70 Hi, titled “Surfman”. Having only recently dropped a duo of Chuck 70 Hi and One Star collaborations, Stüssy bring the former back to life with a beach-inspired pair, with some standout features including a pink hemp upper composition, black ‘Surfman’ emblems and erased stitched Converse logos, as well as classic black piping lining the aged midsole. This is a purchase for the long-haul, with this pair bound to fit into any upcoming autumn wardrobe.

JJJJound x ASICS Gel-Kayano 14

Montreal-born brand JJJJound return with yet another minimal collaboration, tapping ASICS for a collaborative iteration of the Gel-Kayano 14 silhouette. Taking their place on top of the sporty sneaker trend pile, ASICS refuse to slow up as they make the cut two weeks on the bounce, this time around boasting a more toned down Gel-Kayano 14. This pair boast a white and silver colour scheme, a mesh base, detailed silver overlays, white laces, a cream midsole, as well as signature JJJJound lettering across the rear heel area. Whilst a brightly coloured sneaker is always appealing, everybody needs something neutral in their rotation, right? Be quick, these will sell out.

Nike Air Max 95

Starting and ending this week’s line-up, Nike have put forward one of the best Air Max 95 colourways of recent memory, dropping the Nike Air Max 95 Anatomy of Air in a ‘Red/White’ colourway. The detailed pair rock a gradient multi-pink colour palette that gets darker as it descends down the shoe, with other features including signature Air Max air units, an aged cream midsole, a grey suede toe cap, subtle stitching across the upper, as well as customary Nike branding on the rear heel upper and burgundy shaded tongue. Despite looking similar to previously released Valentine’s Day releases, Nike have brought the love forward to August… and we’re not mad about it.
