Her ready-to-wear collection is also available now
Having impressed at her graduate show at Antwerp Royal College of Fine Arts, Fashion Department, Izzy Du releases her first runway collection titled “PROVENANCE” under her eponymous label. This capsule is inspired by a dream-like world she has created that is defined by the morphing of beings. The focus is on the unorthodox silhouettes she creates that look like inhumane extensions of the body. She does this by manipulating many material mediums and using supporting internal structures within the garments to create what can be described as a ‘dimensional contrast’ with the negative space occupied between the wearer and the garment.
The Chinese-Canadian designer is also releasing a ready-to-wear line dubbed “IZZY DU/LIFELINE” which is much more focused on wearability. The defining elements are in the colour schemes and fabrics used to bolster the comfort and versatility of the garments, also adding interest through the prints and pattern cutting to create unconventional basics that live in the IZZY DU ecosystem.
