Debuted at Milan Fashion Week
Maison Margiela’s diffusion line titled MM6 Maison Margiela has been known to take a more adventurous approach to the luxury fashion house’s design language, using this freedom to branch out into different aesthetics and tap into other subcultures. For Spring/Summer 2023, the Paris-based brand called upon fellow French hiking brand Salomon for a second collaboration following the success of their first offering.
Much like the first collaborative effort, this shoe is more than a colour refresh. The shoe comes in black and white colourways and is done in a sock-like thigh-high cut with the signature Salomon rubber sole and mudguard. Although it does sound strange, when seen on-feet, the shoe looks extremely sleek and relatively understated, especially when paired with monochromatic looks as seen on the runway. Alongside the footwear is a reimagined ADV Skin 5 running vest, a piece typically used for hydration and layering purposes.
