The Gala will be on the 1st May, with a public opening for the exhibition happening from the 5th May to 16th July in 2023
To celebrate the legendary German designer’s illustrious sixty-year career, The Metropolitan Museum of Art have announced their upcoming theme for 2023’s Costume Institute Exhibition titled Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty. The public exhibition happening in the same month will display his creative processes, from drawings and sketches to garments that have been changed and altered.
To go along with the announcement, Karl Lagerfeld has also introduced 77 exclusive editions of Lagerfeld’s iconic white shirt, each individually printed with the designer’s original sketches and his hand signature.
