Continuing their slew of 70th-anniversary celebrations, French-founded luxury brand Moncler has joined forces with FRGMT’s Hiroshi Fujiwara for a collaborative iteration of the former’s ‘Maya’ jacket.
Moncler is back with yet another collaborative iteration of the infamous ‘Maya’ jacket, having notably teamed up with Palm Angels just last month for the heavily discussed light-up ‘Maya’ jacket. After the brand’s recent celebratory 70th anniversary show at Paris Fashion Week, the celebrations continue for the French fashion house as they continue the collaborative releases of the ‘Maya’ jacket, with Japanese-born brand FRGMT and head designer Hiroshi Fujiwara taking the creative reign for this one. The piece boasts an all-black outer shelling, which is composed of a nylon laqué material, with this monochrome black piece also donning matte nylon sleeves and signature doses of minimalist FRGMT branding.
In a statement made about the collaboration, FRGMT’s Hiroshi Fujiwara stated the following:
“For me, it’s been a long partnership with Moncler. The brand is part of my daily life, and the bond almost feels like a family. I interpreted the all-black classic Maya jacket with completely different construction while keeping the same outline of the jacket. I thought it was a perfect way to both honor and redefine a timeless piece.”
