The navigation of identity, queer aggression and insistent idiosyncrasy makes up the narrative of Gerrit Jacob’s boldly titled new collection ‘SCUM’, as the German-born designer continues to evolve his ‘unhinged neon universe’ into an eclectic concoction of loud glaring imagery and traditional luxury craft for Fall/Winter 2023.
Centred around diverging combinations of youthful optimism and mature degeneracy, ‘SCUM’ builds on the conceptual codes of Gerrit’s previous collections as his signature brightly coloured, bubblegum palettes are applied to a diverse range of fabrics and distinct silhouettes.
