The Met Museum Reveals Additional Details Regarding Upcoming Karl Lagerfeld Exhibition

Just Six Weeks Away.

As fashion’s most talked about event rapidly approaches, The Metropolitan Museum of Art has shared further details regarding its upcoming Karl Lagerfeld exhibit for The Costume Institute’s spring exhibition.

Set to take place from May 5 to July 16, Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty will offer attendees the opportunity to come up close and personal with some of the late designer’s most iconic collections dating back to the ‘50s up until his passing with 150 garments on display, accompanied by several of his complex sketches.

The Costume Institute’s Wendy Yu is in charge of the exhibition while Lagerfeld’s longtime confidante Amanda Harlech acts as creative consultant and Pritzker Prize-winning architect, Tadao Ando designs the exhibit.

Receiving major support and funding from both Chanel and Fender, a book titled Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty will also be released in May in conjunction with the exhibit.
