Debuting the Second Chapter.
Adidas and Yohji Yamamoto’s Y-3 co-label have officially unveiled and released the second chapter in their much-anticipated Spring/Summer 2023 collection, with technical excellence most definitely being the underlying theme.
Having debuted back in 2003, the collaborative efforts between adidas and Yohji Yamamoto continue well into the 2020s as the duo take SS23′ by storm with a firmly technical approach to their slick garments. Summarised in the idea of “Technical Effortlessness”, this latest range follows on from previously utilised design codes and explores the space between design and function, which is still an ever-growing part of the fashion industry. The relaxed silhouettes featured throughout the collection take on both a formal and informal tone, with flowing shapes moulded in the form of tracksuits, trench coats, utility trousers, tank tops, and several other pieces of outerwear, with shades of black, beige, navy and red layering themselves subtly across the range. Additionally, adaptable features like bungee cords, snap buttons, and asymmetric cuts add an extra dose of detail to the capsule, with new footwear also making its debut through GORE-TEX-laden Y-3 TERREX SWIFT R3 GTX, which is set to be the star of the campaign.
