John Lawrence Sullivan Presents Moody Spring/Summer 2024 Collection

Seriously Spooky.

Dark and atmospheric are two of the first words that spring to mind when you pluck up to courage to take a glance at John Lawrence Sullivan’s decadent Spring/Summer 2024 collection, ‘DARKDENCE’. Intertwining its haunting influences intricately throughout, designer Arashi Yanagawa looks back at his memorable experience at the Sedlec Ossuary in Czech Republic, a chapel filled with real human bones. Further including references to the poignant artworks of Anselm Kiefer and Lithuania’s eerie ‘Hill of Crosses’, the unsettling (in all the right ways) collection draws focus towards the texture of each of its pieces.

From bleached black katsuragi denim, embossed velvet, and pebbled leather to moire-patterned jacquard, uneven vegan suede, and disconnected sleeves, ‘DARKDENCE’ is unified by its graphics created by long-term collaborator AHONEN & LAMBERG. Skeletal-like accessories and gothic footwear options bring the horrors to a close.
