Martine Rose is a British/Jamaican designer who is typically known for her extravagant and unique designs, but this time she’s certainly toned it down. Needless to say, it is super exciting nonetheless.
Having recently been unveiled as Clarks’ first ever guest creative director, Rose has wasted no time in getting started with the footwear brand, debuting a fresh look at her upcoming “Coming up Roses” collection. Since the unveiling of her recent take on the Nike Shox mule, we were expecting bright colours and funky silhouettes, but she has in fact surprised us with quite the opposite. With Martine’s designs, expect the unexpected. Neutral tones and seemingly low-key snake print, Martine is really showing us that she can do it all. These designs in particular are seemingly showcasing her abilities to design classic and traditional pieces, as well as the extravagant ones. After all, balance in your wardrobe is key.
