What Went Down at Ibiza Rocks x JD Sports

In continuation of their partnership, JD and Ibiza Rocks present their season-long residency, ‘Fire in the Pool Fuelled by JD’ – a homage to the legendary ‘Fire in the Booth’ radio show – famed for its commitment to British talent. As PAUSE Magazine attended the first party of the season, UK rap has finally made its home in the party capital – a statement the region was steadily establishing.

With a packed venue each week and a growing demand for tickets, Ibiza Rocks and JD’s support for British talent has created a unique experience that has become a summer staple. A lush continental sky glistened in the late afternoon while the crowd grew hyped for Charlie Sloth’s anticipated return to the decks. The energy in the air was palpable as the former BBC Radio DJ took to the stage, encouraging the crowd to erupt in seamless harmony whilst he played the best of transatlantic rap and hip-hop. A tireless champion of up-and-coming talent, Charlie’s contribution to the scene is one that cannot be overstated. Bringing UK rap, grime and drill to a wider audience, every hit served as an ideal prelude to Arrdee’s performance.

With the crowd chanting his name, Brighton-born, rookie rapper Arrdee kicked off the first of many forthcoming live performances with a bang (quite literally). In a sea of purple confetti and infectious energy, the partygoers were immediately enthralled by his witty lyrics and captivating flow. Every word was sung in unison with the audience, including his best-selling tracks ‘Body’ and ‘Flowers (Say My Name)’.
