Taking a slightly more focused approach for this newest campaign, Matthew M. Williams and Givenchy have tapped Korean pop-star Taeyang for a sleek dose of imagery.

Modelling some of Givenchy’s latest, cutting edge pieces, former Big Bang boyband member Taeyang captures a sense of distinct masculinity with stark, darkened colour palettes and sharpened silhouettes underlining this, whilst branded frames brings Williams’ affection for heavy branding back to the imagery. Falling into the classic tropes of the autumn and winter seasons, a heavy dose of tailored pieces arrive in this dose of Matthew M. Williams shot imagery, with some standouts including an earthy green overcoat, a similarly shaded knit sweater, a simple black suit, as well as a pair of new season black Giv Cut Nylon sunglasses.

In a statement about the campaign, Givenchy creative director Matthew M. Williams stated the following:

“Taeyang is a friend, and to me his creativity and personal values make him an ideal ambassador for Givenchy. You can feel his presence, he has this easy, modern elegance and an edge — he clearly feels comfortable in the clothes and really personifies the house’s new aesthetic.”

Take a look at the campaign imagery below.
