PAUSE Picks: Top Sneaker Releases of the Week

le FLEUR* x Converse Chuck 70 Low

Returning for another dose of summer, Tyler, The Creator’s le FLEUR* and Converse have linked back up for several new iterations of the Chuck 70 Low silhouette, including this standout ‘Pink’ version. As seen on the feet of Tyler at Pharrell’s recent Louis Vuitton runway show in Paris, this pair became a hot topic in the sneaker world, with the low-lying silhouette featuring a pixelated leopard print across most of the upper, whilst thickened laces, tonal gum midsoles, co-branded outsole accents, and signature Converse heel and tongue branding take their typical place as well.

Birkenstock Boston Corduroy

The infamous Birkenstock Boston has had its moment in recent years, with the classic footwear brand looking to make one last splash with this eclectically coloured range of clogs. This ‘Purple Fog’ iteration features a light purple across the lowkey corduroy upper and midfoot, whilst a backless cork heel and a silver Birkenstock-branded buckle round out the summer ready shoe. Slip-on and get gone.

ASICS’ sporty-chic makes its return for this week as the GEL-1130 silhouette gets its chance in the spotlight, coming through in a ‘White Clay/Canyon’ colourway. The neutral pair takes mesh to the bank as the airy material adorns the entirety of the sneaker alongside silver EVA accents, with an elevated cream midsole adding a pre-worn touch to the ready-to-go pair.

Nike x NOCTA Glide

Having popped up in a wide selection of rumoured colourways, the Nike x NOCTA Glide sneaker is the latest release in the duo’s long line of drops, with Drake’s NOCTA stepping up to the plate as we head into the AW23′ season. Debuting in a typically modern look, the Nike x NOCTA Glide is inspired by Jason Kidd’s Zoom Flight 95 and takes basketball-chic to a new level, boasting an oversized action-ready midsole and a mesh and crochet black and grey upper design, with final details including customary Nike insignia and a heel pull tab.

Nike Attack QS SP

Rounding out with a Nike double bill, the Nike Attack QS SP follows on from the hype of Travis Scott’s recent Mac Attack re-release and sees Nike head down another retro road. Staking its claim in a ‘Red Crush’ colourway, this vintage-styled sneaker boasts a white and red colour scheme and a layered mesh and leather composition, with tonal white laces and a red outsole complimenting the hits of red on the heel area. Take things back in time with this one.
