Converse and established creative TJ Sawyerr have come together for a new celebratory campaign, titled ‘Let The Black Star Shine’.
Coming together as a duo alongside renowned retailer END, Converse and TJ Sawyerr have joined forces for a continuation of the former’s ‘Black & White Series’, with the latter putting forward a striking new campaign featuring some classic Converse Chuck 70 Hi sneakers. Titled ‘Let The Black Star Shine’, the newest effort from Accra-born Sawyerr sees the creative polymath document Afro-centric culture and fashion in his home country of Ghana, putting Black beauty on display alongside a host of signature Converse Chuck 70 Hi colours, including several black and white and triple white and black iterations. Hosting a gallery exhibition at their London flagship store, END. are seeking to “[…] challenge stereotypes and misinformation surrounding African culture”, with the exhibition focusing on themes of “community, family and joy.”
