Debuting This Week.
There’s not much that Stüssy do better than a collaboration, and with this latest entry the iconic streetwear brand have headed into music as they tap iconic American rock band, Talking Heads.
Having put forward similar releases in the past, such as joint efforts with the likes of Portishead and Eric B, Stüssy are making sure that – despite their popularity – they are still perceived as a brand that are firmly for the culture. Inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame back in 2002, Talking Heads were originally formed in 1975 in New York City and were made up of founder David Byrne, Chris Frantz, Tina Weymouth, and Jerry Harrison, being recognised as one of rock’s most prominent acts. Shot at the Hollywood Pantages Theatre in Los Angeles, being the location where Talking Heads’ Stop Making Sense (1984) concert film was originally performed and recorded, the campaign imagery displays the collection in a classic light, with the range itself featuring a selection of signature Stüssy garment silhouettes. For instance, a black t-shirt arrives as one of the standouts, being adorned with red graphic faces of the band’s four members on the back as well as co-branded frontal lettering and graphics.
