PAUSE Picks: Top Sneaker Releases of the Week

Moncler x adidas Campus

Conventional? No. Stylish? Most definitely. The Moncler x adidas Campus ‘Core White’ isn’t the ideal colourway for a potentially wet and windy FW23′ season but if you choose your days carefully, we see this as an ideal rotation pair. Boasting a comfort-centric quilted composition, this all-white pair bridge the gap between luxury and everyday footwear as Moncler lettering arrives alongside the classic adidas Three Stripes and co-branded accents adorn the tongue and heel areas, whilst a unique pull tightening lace system adds a touch of utility. A sleeper hit if ever we’ve seen one.

Oakley FT x Brain Dead Chop Saw Mule

Bringing in those earthy autumn tones, the Oakley FT x Brain Dead Chop Saw Mule arrives in an off-brown ‘Maroon’ colourway and continues the duo’s line of successful sneaker releases. Taking a low-top approach to the previously released Chop Saw Mule, this ultra convenient pair stick to the script with a chunky riveted midsole and a breathable mesh upper composition, rounding things off with a subtle silver “O” midfoot Oakley emblem. A get ready and go pair.

Nike x AMBUSH Air More Uptempo Low

After the release of the widely-successful ‘Limestone’ colourway, AMBUSH and Nike reunite for the Air More Uptempo Low once again, taking things to the opposite side of colour wheel with this new ‘Lilac’ iteration. The 00s-inspired silhouette really does give you more as exaggerated “AIR” lettering spreads itself across the upper in a vibrant ‘Apple Green’ colour and overlaps a fun-loving lilac suede upper. AMBUSH branding on the tongue and heel gives you a much-needed flex, whilst a typical Nike Air unit, a stitched red Nike toe Swoosh, as well as overlapping green rope laces complete the colourful pair.

GOLF WANG x Converse Chuck 70 High

Think autumn, think GOLF WANG. Back once more with Converse, the Tyler, the Creator-formed outfit are no stranger to an autumn release, leaning into their affection for those earthy tones. Doing so once again, the Chuck 70 High receives a ‘Paprika Flame’ makeover that includes a brown base colour on the typical Converse canvas as well as a bright pink and blue flame graphic across the rest of the pair. Converse x GOLF WANG is back.

KEEN x Hiking Patrol Jasper

Last but not least, KEEN and Hiking Patrol have come together for a pair that are firmly ready for everything the outdoors has to throw at them, unveiling their tasteful new Jasper Rocks sneaker. Originally pitched as a climbing sneaker, the pair have quickly made a name for themselves in their own right on the streetwear scene, with this particular effort looking to frogs for inspiration. The style comes in a striking ‘Phantasmal Red’ colourway, utilising the growingly-popular burgundy shade seen so commonly on this season’s runways, being inspired by the mysterious world of frogs, namely the Cuban and Phantasmal Poison Frog, providing an apt nod to both KEEN and Hiking Patrol’s outdoor roots. A pair with a story.
