Matthew M. Williams Leaves Role as Givenchy Creative Director

By December 1, 2023Fashion News

A Seemingly Inevitable Outcome.

It has now been confirmed that designer Matthew M. Williams is set to officially leave his role as Givenchy Creative Director.

With rumours having swirled around the designer’s potential departure earlier this year, it has now been confirmed that his tenure at the Givenchy helm is over. Having taken over the role back in June 2020, many fashionistas around the globe highly-anticipated what the designer was set to bring to Givenchy’s table, having taken his co-founded 1017 ALYX 9SM to new heights in the years before that. Rounding out around three and a half years of creation with Givenchy, many within the industry may have expected this change to come, with mixed reviews coming in as he debuted his most recent runway efforts with the French fashion house. In an interesting turn of events, rumours around his replacement have also been rife, with Simon Porte Jacquemus being a name that has consistently been tied to the position over the past couple of months.

Matthew M. Williams is set to depart Givenchy starting from January 1st, 2024. Stay tuned to PAUSE for more information regarding the Givenchy Creative Directer position as it arrives.
