PAUSE Picks: Top Sneaker Releases of the Week

Palace x UGG Tasman

In typical style, the collaborative efforts lead the way as streetwear giants Palace and UGG team up for what is already an opinion-splitting release. This fun-loving set of comfort-centric Tasmans arrive in an apt ‘Olive’ colourway and keeps things simple through a smooth suede upper composition as well as a tonal UGG outsole, with a sherpa lining keeping your toes in check as the cold front hits. Palace’s imitable design style arrives through patchwork stylings spread across the upper, with everything from “Palace” lettering and peace symbols to a tongue-in-cheek devil and frogs keeping this pair full of life.

New Balance 610v1

Keeping things light, New Balance have their fun as we round out the year and debut a cow-themed iteration of their 610v1 sneaker. Taking the stage in a ‘Angora Brown/Black’ colourway, this earth-toned pair jump on the animal print wave as co pattern hair underlays off-white suede panelling as simplistic doses of brown break up any monotony. A layered black and brown tread outsole adds a robust edge, while brown rope lacing and camouflaged New Balance midfoot branding provide the finishing touches.

Casablanca 'The Court Sneaker'

High-fashion footwear does its thing here as luxury Moroccan outfit Casablanca debut their brand new tennis sneaker. The simple yet effective silhouette stays true to classic tennis styles of old as the new entry channels 80s and 90s aesthetics, boasting an upper that utilises integrating panel lines across the all-white leather, with prominent Casablanca Sport branding making its way onto the midfoot, tongue, and attention-grabbing heel. A rear heel pull tab provides added convenience whilst primary Casablanca colours hit the vibrant outsole, footbed, and tennis court-themed tongue patch.

OTTO 958 x ASICS Gel-Flexkee

Arriving from another planet are the OTTO 958 x ASICS Gel-Flexkees, with this futuristic looking pair bound to grab the attention of just about anyone. Arriving in an extraterrestrial black and purple colour scheme, the standout pair feature a unique lilac riveted rubber outsole with tonal “O” leather lace flaps keeping the colour scheme on point. A black leather adorns the simplistic upper as silver ASICS stripes add a sleek and modern piece of branding, with a co-branded OTTO 958 x ASICS heel area letting passersby know exactly who you’re wearing.

Nike Mac Attack OG

The long-awaited return of the Nike Mac Attack OG is over as the classic silhouette finally returns, making its way back in this ‘Grey/Black’ colourway. The high-top tennis sneaker does what it needs to as a retro entry, keeping to the signature shaping whilst inserting a dose of modernity through a mesh, suede, and leather composition, a perforated midfoot, as well as a layered heel.
