Spanish fashion powerhouses Balenciaga have taken the hysteria of ‘Bloke-core’ and ran with it as the luxury giants unveil their ‘Soccer Series’ capsule collection.
Of course inspired by the action-ready stylings of soccer – more appropriately known as ‘football’ – Balenciaga have tapped into some of their signature house colour palettes for this new entry as a limited series of ready-to-wear items and accessories are put up for grabs. The standouts from the available range include a host of red, black, neon yellow, white, and pink soccer jerseys adorned with various nods to Balenciaga, including a custom badge. In similar fashion, zip-up hoodies, tracksuits, sweatpants, and poplin jackets arrive in matching colourways and add a more winter-ready touch, whilst soccer-themed accessories like wool scarves, brimmed caps, and socks make sure to bring forward a uniformed full kit style. Adding some extra attention to detail, an exclusive selection of products feature, instead of a player’s name, the name of city or neighbourhood in which it is available. The full list of names include Aoyama, Barcelona, Beverly Hills, Dubai, Ipanema, Mayfair, Miami, Milan, Paris, Seoul, Shanghai, Soho, and Tokyo, whilst some of these pieces also feature the iconic number ten, in place of a player’s number, referencing Balenciaga’s historic address in Paris: 10 avenue George V.
