With 2024 set to be the year of the ASICS, especially considering the recent popularity of the ‘runner’ sneaker, it looks as though we’ve got an early contender for sneaker of the year as Paperboy Paris look primed to drop a new GT-2160 sneaker alongside the sportswear brand and Japanese outfit, BEAMS.
Prone to a collaborative project, restaurant-come-clothing brand Paperboy Paris are looking to make their mark ahead of Paris Fashion Week later this month, with the James Dridi founded outfit linking up with Japanese streetwear mainstays BEAMS for what looks to be two joint takes on the ASICS GT-2160 sneaker. These unisex sneaker efforts look set to capture both a feminine and masculine audience as lines continue to be creatively blurred, with a polka dot design being the design standout from this soon-to-release capsule. Playing on previously seen colour palettes and compositions, the first predominantly silver mesh effort arrives alongside faint pink laces and equally as subtle polka dots, with another potential pair seemingly utilising hits of black, royal blue, and dark grey instead.
No release date has been set for these pairs as of yet, but stay tuned to PAUSE for more information as it arrives ahead of Paris Fashion Week.
