A New Beginning.
Alexander McQueen’s new creative director, Seán McGirr, has made his first bold step at the helm as he debuts his first campaign with the British fashion outfit, teasing a look at the brand’s Fall/Winter 2024 collection.
The latest dose of campaign imagery is McGirr’s first creative outing with the high-fashion mainstay, having taken over from Sarah Burton back in October of last year. In this stirring selection of shots taken by Tommy Malekoff and directed by Edward Quarmby, a new beginning is most certainly outlined as Alexander McQueen’s iconic logo is updated with a more streamlined look. Set in a pine forest, the campaign backdrop makes sure to intertwine itself with its new creative director, as “ethereal Celtic ambience” lends as a nod to both McQueen’s and McGirr’s roots. Lastly, the imagery features icons and friends of the house, Debra Shaw and Frankie Rayder, with the two donning the label’s unreleased silver chrome skull masks as another nod to the brand’s heritage iconography.
