PAUSE Team Picks: February Wardrobe Favourites

New Year, New Favourites.

You know what they say, “Good things come to those who wait…” and just like that, we are back with our monthly favourites feature for the first time in 2024.

Spring is upon us and the sun has made itself known enough over the past couple of weeks to prove that it hasn’t just been a figment of our imagination all this time. The runways may be keeping our minds in autumn/winter, but now’s the time to start thinking about the transition and making room for your big coat at the back of the wardrobe until next winter.

Amidst all of the fashion week madness (that feels like it’s been going on all year so far), we’ve compiled a list of the things that have caught our eye since the turn of the year. From Rick Owens knitwear to Alexander Wang platforms, imagine a beautiful concoction of pieces chosen by people (or should we say fashionistas) with the same goal in mind: to look good.

Johnson - Editor-in-Chief

Recharge your spring footwear forward with these new wave of Salomon sneakers sporting in aqua and yellow.
Seasonal transition can be awkward but this Rick Owens open knit sweater will keep you transitioning through the season.
Spring will emerge and be ready to prep your wardrobe with this Casablanca lace shirt for when the weather switches up on you!

RHYS - FASHION DIRECTOR

A great jacket in the main character you need to employ to elevate any and every outfit, if you want something that’s going to give you nine lives coupled with multiple wears, then this jacket is the main star of the movie! Soft, structured and in a colour that is subtle, attractive and complimentary to your existing wardrobe.

Fly, fly, fly! Sometimes all you need is a beanie to sprinkle a bit of street style essence on top of your outfit. Effortlessly “HIM” (or her), need I say more?

Gym boiz ting, fly boi ting! You might need these to wear on a run, whilst running a few errands or just because? Relive your 90’s fantasy, be that cool boi that everyone knows you are, so flex and just be… that. Be HIM!

LYNN - FEATURES EDITOR

Can’t go wrong with Ronning. Staying true to the brand’s ethos, this walnut hued swear is the perfect cross-seasonal collection, made to be worn all year around.

The coat for the season. Although we’re edging out of winter, living in England means you have to keep a coat close at all times and this Namacheko coat with triple sphere rivets throughout the upper body and the sleeve, and it’s concealed front placket with two welt side pockets and two inside pockets is the only choice.

A favourite Danish contemporary brand, this leopard Ganni is the ultimate accessory to lift any look.

MARCUS - NEWS WRITER

This oversized hoodie feels like a warm hug and lets you look good while chilling.

This Starter Stack from Steff Eleoff is top tier, offering a made-to-order ring range built to fit all.

This mule had me feeling a way. If you’re looking to elevate your slip-on game from classic to grungy, this mule by Toga Virilis will do the job just fine with its oversized buckle strap and excessive hardware.

AMAL - MUSIC EDITOR

I’m a sucker for anything Supreme x Nike, so getting my hands on these was a must. Despite it selling out in 30 seconds, this was a W for me. I love the nostalgia the shoe holds, the details and practicality also scream out typical supreme branding — from the skate label’s legendary Futura Bold logo to the chunkiness of the Dynamic Air midsole.

NAHMIAS has soon become one of the brands to keep an eye on. From their most recent cowboy themed Spring/Summer 2024 collection to their elevated streetwear basics that encapsulate the Californian livin’ lifestyle. With something by Nahmias, you can turn a somewhat basic outfit into something effortless and luxe.

Spring may be soon approaching, but don’t let the sun decieve you. Personally, I’m not ready to say good bye to the chunky knits and puffers. This brightly colored stripe knit has a spring-like feel, which is kind of counterintuitive considering it is not quite warm. For me, even in the gloomiest of weathers, it’s easy to brighten up the day with apparel – and this just happens to be the brushed cropped sweater by Marni. *Adds to Wishlist*

MICHAEL - NEWS WRITER

The days of the coat being my outfit are numbered. It’s time to swap out the big wool number for an oversized graphic hoodie. Arise Sp5der.

The days are counting down until I jet off to Mexico with a bunch of my best mates. You’d think I’d be unable to control my excitement but the only thing I can think is, ‘What on earth do I wear?!’. A statement pair of Tom Ford shades is a good place to start, right?

You’ve all heard of that famous saying, ‘New Year, New Stompers’?!
