Japanese outfit sacai and frequent collaborators Carhartt WIP are back for more this SS24′ as the duo link up for another joint capsule.
Once again bridging the gap between high-fashion, streetwear, and tailoring, sacai x Carhartt WIP firmly incorporates Chitose Abe’s affection for classic formalwear and strikingly cut garments, with Carhartt WIP’s iconic workwear stylings and duck textiles also coming to the fore. Sacai’s notorious attention to detail is palpable in this capsule’s use of triple stitch bonding, which sees a reversed inside-out effect arrive through piping, contrasting colour palettes, and co-branded pocket details. All the while, Carhartt WIP’s hardy, action-ready, and neutrally-coloured materials layer perfectly over extravagant Chitose Abe-led silhouettes, with some standouts including the multi-functional reversible Duck Coat, dungaree-style dresses, overcoat-style blazers, as well as a light green hooded parka jacket. The wider collection covers various bases, with a range of basics such as hoodies, t-shirts, caps, workwear jackets and trousers, dungarees, shorts, skirts and more set to sit the shelves this month.
