Returning for Summer 2024, LOEWE Paula’s Ibiza collection features a host of free-spirited talent that encapsulates the returning release’s aura of fun and carefree enjoyment.
The collection is inspired by the iconic Paula’s boutique, which originally became notable due to it being synonymous with the counter cultural movement in the 1970s, whilst also capturing the essence of island life. Reimagined for 2024, the new version of LOEWE Paula’s Ibiza deploys “a playful wardrobe charged with vibrant energy and suited for summer occasions both in the city or on holiday, for music festivals and summer strolls around town with LOEWE’s unmistakable sense of ease, and distinctive craft.” Stretching across both mens and womenswear, the latest instalment of the ongoing effort sees LOEWE’s love of the weird and wonderful shine through as edgy graphics ranging from teddy bear and planet motifs to vibrantly-coloured prints of artist Douglas Abraham being central standouts.
The garments themselves cover a range of bases and styles, with crop tops and mismatched ruffle mini skirts contrasting with loose men’s shirts, bottoms, oversized tops, and west-coast style shorts to put forward the rough and ready air that summer time exudes. In typical LOEWE style, leather bag options are available in abundance as the brand utilise their signature basketry with a new woven raffia version across the iconic Puzzle and Puzzle Fold tote, with the Font tote and Iraca Basket arriving in new seasonal colours. The protagonist of LOEWE’s leather entries is the the aforementioned woven raffia version of the Puzzle bag, with this highlight boasting graphic stripes designed to follow the cuts of the bag, thus making it vary and pop in colour. Additionally, animal pins, tropical fruits, mixed raffia and leather pouches put their stamp on other accessories, whilst footwear steps into the spotlight through summer-ready espadrilles, light sandals, foam slides, biker boots in soft leather and brushed suede, and low cut lace-up or slip-on sneakers.
In the spirit of togetherness, for every basket bag sold LOEWE will make a donation to the local communities who handweave them, with their donation looking to help provide university scholarships in Colombia, building a craft training school in Madagascar, and provide humanitarian relief following the 2023 earthquake in Morocco.
