Y-3 Officially Unveil Spring/Summer 2024 “Chapter 2”

By April 11, 2024Fashion News

Going Above & Beyond.

Adidas and Yohji Yamamoto step their game up for Y-3’s Spring/Summer 2024 ‘Chapter 2′, with this latest effort placing focus on the tension between bridging sport with boundary pushing design.

Centring the capsule around the idea of “Contra-Natural”, Y-3’s latest creative endeavour plays on a series of “[…] delicately poised juxtapositions”, underlining the ever-present tensions at the heart of Y-3, and in particular sport and cutting-edge design, organic and synthetic, and linear perfection and natural imperfection. Y-3’s SS24′ “Chapter 2” looks to spotlight the navigation of the big city through themes of freedom, liberation, and lightness. Snapped by Francis Plumber, the striking visuals catches the adventurers off-guard as free runners navigate the city landscape expertly as the synthetic environment of the city hits the body’s natural flow head on, thus underlining and championing the unexpected beauty of the collection’s central theme; the spirit of “Contra-Natural.”

Reimagining sporty classics, workwear inspired garments, and refined materials, Y-3’s “Chapter 2” consists of a variety of subtle yet bold overshirts, cargo pants, tops, tracksuits, jerseys and more that are constructed with action-ready utility pockets, adjustable hems, and flowing shapes, while up-to-date versions of the iconic adidas Superstar Tracksuit are taken to the next level with topographical map piping. Delving into the archives, Yohji Yamamoto looks to adidas’ Teamgeist football jerseys for inspiration as they round out the apparel collection, as each piece bears a digital rust print inspired by the natural process of oxidation. Lastly, a selection of nylon backpacks, totes, and holdalls accessorise the range.

Y-3’s SS24′ “Chapter 2” collection will be available via the Y-3 website soon.
