Catch Them If You Can: Looking Into Vicinity’s Rise

To The Top.

Vicinity has been carving its own path in the streetwear realm. Straight out of Germany, the design giants have developed a cunning brand identity and range of clothes suitable for all, urging customers to fully dive into their world.

Launched in 2020, the brand’s founder, Kiyan, stepped into the fashion space with clear creative direction. Having no formal fashion or business training, aside from a graphic design course that he took at university, Kiyan independently studied the ins and outs of brand building. From starting the label at just 17 years old, Vicinity generated a turnover of €10,000,000, by 2022, with the brand booming to an estimated value of €30,000,000 just a year later. Today, the brand has accumulated 648,000 followers on Instagram, an expression of its meteoric rise.

From the beginning, Kiyan hoped to build Vicinity as a brand that could be experienced in its entirety, every single day. The brand offers a selection of tracksuits, from hooded jumpers and matching bottoms to athleisure zip-ups, with cuts conducive to modern tailoring expectations. Their Akimbo low sneakers have built up a bit of a cult following, featuring a low leather structure, bone logo along the midfoot, and a range of monochromatic colourways.

Vicinity expands its life-consuming range via other products as well. They’ve been known to dabble in trends, offering their own take on Brazil and Argentina tops ahead of a summer full of football, and a series of baggy denim with their branding spanning pocket to pocket. Bags, caps, and rings make up a good majority of their accessories section, along with rugs for customers to get ready on.

The brand dropped one of its limited series’ on May 26th, debuting a range of tracksuits that take the term track in two different directions. The first three take design cues from vintage warmup suits track stars would don before their races, while the other four include moto-inspired design cues. The drop is available online now via the label’s website.
