Supreme’s list of influences seem to know no bounds as they put on for music with their new collaboration alongside American rock band, Melvins.
Often delving into an eclectic range of subcultures and scenes, it’s no surprise that streetwear titans Supreme have once again gone left of centre for their latest collaboration, teaming up with one of rock’s finest bands. Born out of Montesano, Washington in 1983 by then high-school students Buzz Osborne, Matt Lukin and Mike Dillard (replaced by Dale Crover shortly after), Melvins are a bound full of a plethora of talent, with the band historically being inspired by and mixing elements of Black Sabbath, Jimi Hendrix, and Kiss with “high-speed hardcore punk.” Constantly reinventing themselves throughout the years by instilling various elements of rock with jazz, ambient music, country, industrial, and electronic sounds, Melvins proved to be just the ticket for Supreme’s constantly evolving ethos, with this latest collaboration seeing the revered band lead the way with their influence.
Stepping forward for Spring 2024, the latest collection for Supreme sees the clothing giants continue their fast start to 2024, tapping Melvins for an eclectic selection of graphic pieces, including a BDU Jacket, S/S Polo, Hooded Sweatshirt, two T-Shirts, a 6-Panel cap and a Pillow.
The Supreme x Melvins capsule will be available to shop via the Supreme website on May 9th.
