New Beginnings.

Set to display his debut effort with Blumarine next year, David Koma has been unveiled as the new creative director of the brand.

The Georgian-born designer has been unveiled as the new face of Blumarine, taking the helm from former Tod’s director Walter Chiapponi, who only took over the creative director position back in November 2023. The London-based designer has typically specialised in womenswear, having become well known for his jewel-encrusted looks that have been donned by the likes of Kylie Jenner and Beyoncé.

The Central Saint Martins graduate released this statement in reference to his appointment at the helm of Blumarine:

“Blumarine embodies a unique blend of sensuality, timeless glamour, and elegance that I always admired, and it is an honor to be able to write the next chapter in the brand’s illustrious history. I am excited to celebrate Blumarine’s rich creative heritage while infusing it with my own modern vision. The brand’s feminine aesthetic deeply resonates with me, making this journey feel incredibly authentic. I am eager to craft collections that inspire and captivate our audience, ushering in an exciting new era of innovation and creativity at this esteemed house.”

David Koma is set to debut his first Blumarine collection for the pre-fall 2025 season early next year.
