BREAKING: Glenn Martens Steps Down as Y/PROJECT Creative Director

By September 6, 2024Fashion News

Out of the Blue.

After 11 years in the creative director role, Glenn Martens is stepping down from his position at the helm of Y/PROJECT.

In unexpected news, Y/PROJECT announced earlier today that the long-time creative director of the house would be leaving his position, with the Belgian design having significantly furthered the strong cultural position of the outfit over these past few years. The disruptive style of Glenn Martens first took over Y/PROJECT back in 2013, utilising the foundational codes of original founders Gilles Elalouf and Yohan Serfaty and reimagining them for the new wave of fashion-lovers. In relation to the brand’s upcoming efforts, it has not yet been confirmed whether Glenn Martens will be going ahead with his Y/PROJECT show at Paris Fashion Week this month.

In a statement about the news, Y/PROJECT shared the following:

“Glenn Martens thanks Y/PROJECT and Gilles Elalouf, the late CEO of the brand who tragically passed away last June, for giving him the support and freedom to express his vision while expanding on the creative artistry that the label established.”

What are your thoughts on Glenn Martens’ departure from Y/PROJECT?
