The Italian fashion house takes Manhattan.
On 17 October 2024, Giorgio Armani presented his Spring/Summer 2025 collection in New York – a first for the eponymous brand. Giorgio Armani’s mainline label typically closes out Milan Fashion Week. This year, it was held at the iconic Park Avenue Armory. The building’s great hall was reimagined for the occasion, resembling a 1930s train station, and the 650 guests in attendance were seated in a waiting room-style arrangement. The show opened with a model dressed in a beige jacket, trousers, and boots. A porter trailed closely behind her, carrying vintage-inspired suitcases. Relaxed tailoring followed, with flowy jackets and silk trenches finished in subtle hues. Later, after-dark apparel emerged, signalled by the arrival of embellished gowns, diaphanous skirts, and beaded tops.

Ahead of the show, the 90-year-old founder explained why he chose to go Stateside, “New York, for me, has always been linked to the many films that have deeply shaped my imagination. Thinking of the city in the ’30s and ’40s never ceases to inspire me and I evoke that mood in the new Giorgio Armani women’s collection.”
The Big Apple’s inspiring energy wasn’t the only reason for Armani’s visit. His trip coincided with the reopening of his store on Madison Avenue, which was redesigned to include residential units, the new Giorgio Armani and Armani/Casa boutiques, and an Armani/Ristorante, set to open next month.
