The Savannah College of Art and Design presents ‘André Leon Talley: Le Style est Éternel’ in an exhibition that honours the late Vogue editor and friend of the university, André Leon Talley.

SCAD president and founder, Paula Wallace, mentioned her adoration for “André! The name conjures a man of wonder, wisdom, glamour, influence, and the warmth of a sun that burns brightly and will for the ages. With a caftan as his cape and words as his wand, André Leon Talley reigned as fashion’s most winsome oracle, a beloved cultural titan, cherished friend, and mentor to SCAD Bees across the world.” Those kaftans and capes became a staple in his later career. On display are his Chanel taupe silk robe and silk Balenciaga cape that can be admired.

In addition to Talley’s own pieces, the exhibition features other rare loans from artists and collaborators. Anna Wintour’s hand-embroidered silk blouse and peach skirt are next to the extravagant capes. The archival fashion is what we are here for, but it isn’t the only thing on display. Accessories, photographs, and ephemera provided by Talley himself for SCAD’s Permanent Collection.

The exhibition opened back in April and is on view until the 31st October 2026. Will you be visiting?
