adidas Collaborates With Nigerian Skate Brand waf.

Bringing Lagos the Superstar ADV.

Adidas has gone next level with its first-ever partnership with a Nigerian brand, teaming up with Lagos skate collective waf. (Wafflesncream) on a collaborative Superstar ADV that makes history as the first African skate community to touch the legendary silhouette. Founded in 2012 by the Marcus-Bello brothers and KC Obijiaku, waf. built West Africa’s skate scene from the ground up, literally, with a park constructed on the site of a former colonial prison, and this drop channels fourteen years of that grind into leather and rubber.

Every detail is pulled straight from Lagos Island: The dusty grey upper nods to the city’s industrial edge, breathable side panels are built for the heat skaters actually ride in, and a translucent pink outsole. It’s a love letter to a city and the community that made the culture what it is, proof that after five decades, the Superstar still has new chapters left to write.

Presale kicks off today, July 23, exclusively at adidas Lekki in Lagos, with the global rollout landing October 12th starting at the waf. flagship before hitting adidas retail and e-commerce worldwide.
