Oakley Opens the Archive with the MUZM X-Metal Juliet Prototype

The rare pre-production frame arrives at the brand's Covent Garden store in an ultra-limited release.

Oakley is revisiting one of its most influential eyewear designs with the release of the MUZM X-Metal Juliet Prototype, offering a rare look at the development behind one of the brand’s most celebrated silhouettes.

Rather than a standard reissue, the release consists of pre-production frames created during the final stages of the Juliet’s engineering. Originally produced to test, refine and perfect the design before it entered production, the prototypes have since become sought-after artefacts that capture the technical process behind Oakley’s pioneering approach to eyewear.

Forged from the brand’s signature X-Metal titanium alloy, the frames retain the defining features that made the Juliet a landmark in performance design, including flex couplers, interchangeable nosebombs and Plutonite Prizm Ruby Polarized lenses engineered with Oakley’s XYZ Optics technology.

The release will be available exclusively through Oakley’s Covent Garden store, where just three pairs will be offered via an in-store lucky draw on the 23rd of July, reinforcing the prototype’s status as one of the brand’s rarest modern releases.
