Converse Drops the SHAI 001 LACE UP in Three New Colourways

Cheetah, Lime and Berry lead the line-up, alongside kids' sizing for the first time

Converse has unveiled the SHAI 001 LACE UP, the final construction of Shai’s signature sneaker before the NBA star makes the move to Nike. Dropping this autumn, the new release switches up the original silhouette with a traditional lace-up construction and three colourways: Cheetah, Lime and Berry.

The new design replaces the zippered shroud of the original SHAI 001 while keeping its sculptural shape. Each pair features a synthetic nubuck upper and contrasting collar, with Cheetah adding a padded animal-print tongue and two-tone upper, while Lime and Berry arrive in bold block colours.

Performance-wise, the setup stays the same, with Nike Zoom Air in the forefoot, radial traction underfoot and Shai’s signature logo across the tongue. The LACE UP will also be available in kids’ sizing, a first for the SHAI 001.

For the campaign, Converse tapped multidisciplinary artist Jacob Rochester to illustrate the new colourways. The hand-drawn artwork moves between younger players and older sneaker fans, fitting with the SHAI 001’s expansion into kids’ sizing for the first time.
