WING, Central
CUISINE: Contemporary Chinese PRICE: HK$$$$
Chef Vicky Cheng’s WING has become one of Hong Kong’s hardest tables to book, and for good reason. Sitting one floor below his Michelin-starred VEA, the restaurant sees Cheng turn his attention fully to Chinese cooking, drawing from the country’s eight major culinary traditions while keeping the flavours and ingredients at the centre of it all. The seasonal tasting menu takes you on a journey through Chinese cooking, reworking familiar flavours and ingredients without losing sight of their roots. Now ranked No. 2 on Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants 2026, you’ll want to make your reservation well in advance.

Mott 32, Central
CUISINE: Cantonese PRICE: HK$$$$
Part of the fun of Mott 32 is getting there. Hidden beneath the Standard Chartered Bank building in Central, the restaurant sits in a stylish basement dining room, away from the bustling streets above. The food is predominantly Cantonese, with Beijing and Szechuan influences, and the signature applewood-roasted Peking duck is the only place to start. Fancy something a little more extravagant? Upgrade to the Celebration Peking Duck. Nothing on the menu disappoints; it’s one of those Hong Kong restaurants that truly lives up to the hype.

Don Pedro, Sai Ying Pun
CUISINE: Argentinian PRICE: HK$$$
One of the city’s newer openings, Don Pedro brings a little Buenos Aires to Sai Ying Pun. The intimate 35-seat steakhouse and wine bar is all about Argentinian cooking, with steak taking centre stage. Expect empanadas, chorizo flambé and house-made charcuterie, alongside a wine list that’s big on Malbec. With candlelight and just a handful of tables, it feels more like a neighbourhood spot than your typical steakhouse. A good one to know when you’re in the mood for great steak and wine without the fuss.
