The World’s 50 Best Hotels for 2026 Have Been Revealed

The World’s 50 Best Hotels for 2026 have officially been revealed, compiling some of the most impressive properties across the globe.

For the second year running, Rosewood Hong Kong has been named the world’s best hotel, keeping its No.1 position after first taking the title in 2025. Bangkok follows closely behind, with Capella Bangkok moving up from third to second and Four Seasons Bangkok at Chao Phraya River shifting from second to third. And having checked into Capella ourselves just days before the announcement, we can see exactly why it snagged the No.2 spot.

Dubai’s Atlantis The Royal continues its climb too, moving from sixth to fourth, while Lake Como’s Passalacqua rounds out the top five. Just behind them, Rosewood São Paulo makes one of the biggest moves of the year, jumping a huge 18 places from No.24 to No.6.

And there’s plenty of movement further down the list. Aman Tokyo climbs from No.25 to No.11, while London’s Claridge’s moves from No.16 to No.13. Las Ventanas al Paraíso in Los Cabos makes an even bigger leap, moving 19 places from No.44 to No.25 and taking home the Highest Climber award.

Of course, what goes up can also come down. Raffles Singapore drops from No.5 to No.17, Marrakech’s Royal Mansour moves from No.13 to No.26, while Rio de Janeiro’s Copacabana Palace falls from No.11 to No.29. London’s The Connaught also finds itself further down the list this year, moving from No.29 to No.49.

Then there are the new names joining the party. Casa Maria Luigia in Modena makes the highest debut at No.18, while California’s San Ysidro Ranch enters at No.22. Patina Osaka lands at No.33 and picks up the Best New Hotel award, with Amangiri, The Peninsula Hong Kong and Bangkok’s Aman Nai Lert also making their first appearances in the top 50.

Asia certainly has plenty to celebrate this year, taking 18 spots and seven of the top 10, including all three of the highest-ranked hotels. Europe still has the most entries overall with 21, but when it comes to the very top of the list, Asia certainly took it home this year.

Rosewood Hong Kong may have held onto the crown, but with some major jumps, unexpected drops and ten new entries, there’s been plenty of movement on this year’s list.
