Think you know the Rockstud Spike? Think again. Valentino’s legendary bag is back for FW26, this time with Alessandro Michele giving the signature style a fresh new look.
Originally introduced on the Valentino Fall/Winter 2016-17 runway, the Rockstud Spike returns as part of the Maison’s Interferenze Fall/Winter 2026-27 collection. While its iconic platinum-finish studs, quilted surface, chain strap and turn-lock closure remain, the silhouette has been stretched into a more elongated horizontal shape.
Made from supple goatskin leather or suede, the latest versions come in shades including black, warm grey, burnt orange and ochre. Alongside the classic colourways, Michele has added two decorative takes: one with floral and butterfly embroidery, and another featuring colourful harlequin-inspired patchwork.
The Rockstud Spike is available now at Valentino boutiques and online, with a smaller teal green suede version arriving exclusively online from October.
