Louise Trotter, look away now. Kith and UGG have given the classic Tasman a woven makeover, and it’s cranking necks for more than one reason.
Arriving in three colourways — “Forest Night”, “Chestnut” and “Black” — the all-new silhouette keeps the usual Tasman profile but introduces thick woven panels across the upper, giving the release a pretty familiar look. Despite the newness (and a certain luxury-house feel), there’s also a whole host of of familiar detailing to keep things true to the original including a braided collar, usual UGG branding, and trademark outsole.
While this latest iteration isn’t an direct collab, the Tasman has long served as a starting point for designers looking to put their own spin on UGG’s signature slip-on. From JW Anderson’s loafer-inspired mules to HIDDEN.NY’s hardware-led update, the silhouette has taken on plenty of new forms over the years, proving there’s more than one way to step into a classic.
The UGG Tasman Woven is available now via Kith, with all three colourways included in the release. The pair is currently exclusive to the retailer, although a wider launch through additional stockists is expected soon.
