Copenhagen menswear brand Les Deux head back to its American roots for a new autumn-ready capsule collection alongside the NFL’s Detroit Lions.
Debuting an extensive 22-style limited-edition range of pieces, Les Deux have joined up with the Detroit Lions and US sportswear label ’47 for an official NFL licensed collection, with six co-branded cap styles filling out the capsule. Having consistently looked to style codes of traditional American uniforms, ranging from workwear and varsity silhouettes to modern sportswear, Les Deux fully indulges in its affections for the USA in this latest drop, tracing its references through the Detroit Lions, the city more generally, and the American football culture that unites them. Shot in Detroit, Les Deux x Detroit Lions taps in with both models and local people for its campaign, telling the detailed story of the city, the people that make it what it is, and the game itself. Moving through local neighbourhoods and favourite hotspots, the campaign imagery goes through the motions of match day, treading the route that the fans take on a regular basis. Taking the collaboration to the next level, the Detroit Lions will face off against the New England Patriots on November 15th at Bayern Munich’s Allianz Arena, with the campaign’s title – LD/DL – emphasising movement and the journey both are taking together, reading the same in either direction and being placed opposite one another across the same four letters.
The collection itself wears its influences on its sleeves, with the brown wool varsity jacket leading the 16-piece main collection with various pieces of Detroit Lions insignia, whilst a washed denim co-ord, “Lion” knitwear, a football graphic fleece, and an NFL knitter cardigan complete the core range. T-shirts, bottoms, hoodies, jumpers, and caps round out the capsule, completing the vintage-style collection in serious style.
