The designer will become honorary president.

Silvia Venturini Fendi is set to step down as creative director of Fendi, as per LVMH’s confirmation. In place of this news, Silvia will now move into the role of honorary president, continuing to represent and champion the brand on a global stage.

Whilst nothing is set in stone as of yet, the group have said that details of a new creative structure will be announced “in due time.”

Silvia – a third-generation member of the Fendi dynasty – worked alongside Karl Lagerfeld from 1992 until his passing in 2019. She has also overseen the brand’s menswear and accessories since 1994, later taking on womenswear following Kim Jones’s exit last year, and guiding the maison through its milestone centenary.

As Fendi closes one defining chapter and prepares for the next, the question lingers: who will take up the creative mantle next? Let us know your thoughts.
