Back With a New Silhouette.
First spotted on stage during his latest US tour, the sneaker Straycat takes cues from a 2005 PUMA archive model, the Ouninpohja Explorador II, and gives the whole thing a Rocky treatment, the silhouette comes with a chunky Vibram outsole, aggressive tyre-inspired traction and plenty of technical detailing, basically taking everything that made the original feel ready for the outdoors and pushing it somewhere much more street. There is a clear motorsport influence running through the shoe too, with rugged materials and exaggerated soles.
For the Straycat, those details have been reworked with distressed materials, a double-lacing system and a Vibram compound outsole, marking the first proper co-branded Vibram outsole with PUMA, complete with the iconic cat logo near the toe. The A$AP Rocky x PUMA Straycat lands worldwide on August 27 via PUMA.com, PUMA stores and selected retailers, with wildflower giveaways happening in London and Amsterdam to celebrate the release and the European leg of Rocky’s tour.
