BEAMS PLUS initially started off small as a retail store in Tokyo, Japan. It wasn’t till much later in 1999 that the label expanded and was established as the outstanding Japanese menswear brand acknowledged today.

Beams-plus-SS13-08One admirable factor of this brand is their understanding of the overall goal and concentrating on that towards their products. Or the Beams Plus SS13 there are particular references from their original collection and influences from iconic dapper American traditional wear, sportswear, work wear and military wear. For an overall well executed interpretation of great classic men’s quality garments they haven’t just accomplished but mastered the modern tastes of attractive colours, a mix-up of textures both smooth and rugged but not forgetting of course using complimentary patterns and prints on their designs.

The contrasting team of fashion and sport has proven itself over the years as being a worthy duo for the high-street, and the catwalk.  Assisted by Oki-ni, this young designer has sewn his athletic past with the art of clothing, and presents his Spring/Summer collection for 2013.

Through the latest editorial shoot, A. Sauvage gives us an artistic insight in to his former years on the basketball court, as well as the run up to his new path of success; designing. The black and white photo-set, shot by the brand’s owner, blurs the lines between fashion and sport, due to  A. Sauvage’s cutting-edge clothing that can be worn inside and outside of the gym.

Adrien Sauvage continues to build on his legacy with yet another iconic addition to his label, and though he may have retired from sports, he continues to eliminate any potential opponents with his individuality and creativity.
